Dear Friend

I am writing to introduce the Nashville Homeless Power Project to you, and to request your support. The Nashville Homeless Power Project (NHPP) was founded in 2006 as a 501c3 nonprofit organization that organizes the homeless, formerly homeless and others to eradicate street homelessness and poverty in Nashville.

As the Executive Director of NHPP, my objective is to strategically empower staff and volunteers, enhance organizational capacity, while ensuring that the organization is aligned with its mission. Facilitating local collaborations, providing leadership development and training opportunities are the steps I am taking toward reaching my objective. In addition, NHPP is focusing on providing better educational resources, technical assistance and guidance to those struggling with the issue of chronic street homelessness and, through a series of strategically coordinated events, seeking to create the political will, partnerships, and expertise to resolve the problem in an effective manner.

The current economic crisis has resulted in a decrease in funding support from private and public foundations. We must lean more heavily on our existing partnerships within the community to support our work, while forming new partnerships within the faith based community and its historical connection to the social justice movement. I am reaching out to you in partnership, and requesting your assistance as we face our most difficult challenge to date. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Nashville Homeless Power Project in any amount will help to ensure that we can continue to address the root causes of homelessness in Nashville. Your contribution can be sent directly to the Nashville Homeless Power Project at our new address:

1310 Jefferson Street, Suite 200

Nashville, TN 37208

Feel free to contact me by phone at (615) 321-6100, or email at jay@homelesspower.org if you have any questions or need further information. Thank you in advance for your partnership and support. ??

In Solidarity,

Jay Mazon
